I know how you feel...really, I do...
To see a friend upset...it hurts. A lot.
But don't give up, you have to keep trying...and don't feel bad because you think you haven't helped any, you just have to try. After all, you can't really know that the things you say aren't helping, you can't see inside their mind...and there aren't any magic words that will make them feel better, you just have to show how much you care. That's all you can do...
I really wish I could help somehow...
